Friday night I went to The Rusty Needle in Hutchinson and took in a three-band show, presented by Signature Sound Entertainment. The show was headlined by Elisium.
You read about Hutchinson Community Concerts' new season in last week's B. I've noted numerous times in past submissions that this is Hutchinson's best entertainment value: five Memorial Hall concerts between this October and next May for $40 adult tickets and $90 for the entire family.
A mighty tour just rolled through the Paramount Bar in Salina, and it was fantastic.
I had an opportunity to attend the Karrin Allyson show Nov. 17 at the Fox Theatre. Those in attendance got a special treat as the Hutchinson Community College Jazz Ensemble performed first to open the show. What a treat!

The B gives a lot of publicity to a variety of little-known and not particularly well-attended groups holding concerts in Hutchinson, McPherson and around the area. So when more than 900 people show up, as they did last Saturday night at the Fox Theatre for a gospel concert, it’s worthy of a…
Saturday evening, myself and Brittany Baxter attended the Intrust Bank Arena event featuring Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, Sixx:A.M. and As Lions in Wichita.
Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theatre will have a difficult time in future concerts of the just launched season matching the talent, star/audience interaction, personality, musical back up, staging and audience enthusiasm shown last Saturday night when Frankie Avalon took the stage.

The third time was the charm as Joseph Hall's Elvis returned to the McPherson Opera House on Saturday night. Hall was in fine form, as always. His show is high-energy and he covered Elvis Presley from three different eras, even singing a couple of songs I had never heard before. I'd provide …
Whenever I think of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, I think of "Moonlight Serenade." This is their signature song, and has been since the band began, although Miller composed this piece long before he organized the band. It was an exercise he did for a course in arranging. But no matter. It's so…
